Role overview
The Systems Analyst joins the Product Development team in Toronto, bridging business stakeholders and technical teams.
This is a hybrid BA/QA role: business analysis is the primary emphasis, and hands-on testing is required.
The current hybrid arrangement expects 1–2 days per week in person at the Toronto office.
Responsibilities
- Analyze processes and change requests; recommend process or system solutions and clarify business needs.
- Produce process flows, user stories, mockups, requirements-aligned test plans, cases, and scripts.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and phase-appropriate testing; validate end-to-end business outcomes.
- Track defects through resolution and retesting, coordinate SME feedback, and retain test evidence.
- Improve quality practices and documentation and suggest suitable automation.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a hybrid BA/QA role.
- Experience translating business processes into requirements and solutions, leading stakeholders and discovery independently, and testing system solutions hands-on.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, stakeholder management, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile practices; able to work independently and balance multiple initiatives.
- Azure DevOps or TFS, insurance or financial-services experience, and AI productivity tool experience are assets.
Compensation
- Salary range is CAD 75,000–85,000 annually.
