Permanent System Administrator – Intelligent Transport Systems role based in Dubai, UAE; compensation is described only as market rates.
Support deployment, configuration and ongoing operation of mission-critical software platforms across the Middle East.
The role requires experience in ITS, traffic management, tolling, smart mobility or related transportation technology, particularly central applications and operational systems rather than purely roadside hardware.
Role and responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade and monitor transportation software platforms across physical, cloud, IaaS and PaaS environments.
- Deploy and support applications on traditional application servers and modern microservices-based architectures.
- Provide second-line support for live mission-critical systems; investigate application faults, system alerts and performance issues.
- Support integrations between central applications and other ITS, traffic management and mobility systems.
- Write scripts and automate recurring administration, monitoring and testing using Ansible or similar tools.
- Work with project teams on solution design, deployment and system integration; provide technical support and training to customers and partners.
Skills and experience
- 3–5+ years supporting or administering operational software systems in ITS, traffic management, tolling, smart mobility or transportation technology.
- Strong Windows and Linux/Unix knowledge and experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting server-based applications.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, Shell/Bash, Windows Batch or similar, alongside exposure to automation technologies.
- Experience with cloud environments, infrastructure platforms and complex system/application integrations.
- SQL/database knowledge is desirable; Ansible, Git, microservices, CI/CD and automated testing experience is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills; able to support business-critical systems in live operations.
- Fluent English and willingness to travel when required.
