Role Description
The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist at Association les Héritiers de la Sagesse will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures across the organization.
In this full-time remote role, the specialist will conduct risk assessments, review incident reports, and recommend corrective actions to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Daily activities include updating EHS documentation, supporting virtual safety inspections and audits, coordinating online safety trainings, and tracking EHS performance metrics.
The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards, and provide expert guidance on workplace safety and occupational health matters.
This role also involves preparing clear reports and recommendations for leadership and supporting continuous improvement of EHS programs and practices.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, with experience applying them in organizational settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including development and implementation of EHS programs and procedures.
- Practical experience with Workplace Safety practices, including risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident follow-up.
- Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate effective Safety Training, preferably in virtual or hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with relevant EHS regulations, standards, and best practices; experience interpreting and applying them in a practical context.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, multicultural environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Professional EHS or safety certification (such as CSP, NEBOSH, or equivalent) is an asset.
- Comfort with digital tools for remote work, including online collaboration platforms and EHS management systems.
