Role Description
The Sustainability Manager at RBN SOMALEV HUB AFRIC will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability initiatives across the organization.
This part-time, remote role involves assessing environmental and social impacts, setting measurable sustainability goals, and tracking progress against key performance indicators.
The Sustainability Manager will coordinate sustainability projects with internal teams and external partners, integrate sustainability considerations into business processes, and support decision-making with data-driven insights.
Responsibilities include preparing internal updates and external disclosures on sustainability performance, staying informed about relevant standards and regulations, and recommending continuous improvements.
The role also involves organizing awareness activities, guiding colleagues on sustainable practices, and contributing to strategic planning related to sustainable development.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in corporate sustainability and sustainable development, with experience applying these concepts in organizational settings.
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting, including familiarity with common frameworks, metrics, and disclosure practices.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret data, evaluate impacts, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to translate complex sustainability topics into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences.
- Experience managing sustainability projects or initiatives, including planning, coordination, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
- Relevant academic background in sustainability, environmental studies, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, impact measurement, and stakeholder engagement is an advantage.
