Role Description The Sustainability Manager (part-time, remote) will lead the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across RAKIS programs and operations.
This role includes designing and tracking sustainability metrics, preparing sustainability reports for internal and external stakeholders, and integrating sustainable development principles into summit content, partnerships, and events.
The Sustainability Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts, identify improvement opportunities, and support responsible investment narratives.
Day-to-day activities involve data collection and analysis, stakeholder engagement, preparation of presentations and briefings, and staying current with relevant regulations, frameworks, and best practices in sustainability.
The role also includes advising on sustainable event practices, supplier selection, and partnership criteria aligned with RAKIS’s long-term sustainability vision.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Corporate Sustainability and Sustainable Development, with experience applying these concepts in a business, investment, or event context.
- Proficiency in Sustainability Reporting, including familiarity with common frameworks, standards, and disclosure practices.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills to collect, interpret, and present sustainability data and impact metrics clearly and accurately.
- Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to translate complex sustainability topics into concise, accessible materials for diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in ESG, impact measurement, or responsible investment is highly beneficial.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setup while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental studies, business, economics, public policy, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ESG, GRI, ISO, sustainable finance) are an advantage.
- Familiarity with the MENA region’s economic and regulatory landscape, or experience in international summits, conferences, or multi-stakeholder platforms, is a plus.
