Sustainability Engineer

Role overview

Coordination and design review

• Communicate certification requirements and project progress to stakeholders and teams; coordinate daily activities with contractor sustainability staff.
• Assist MEP and civil teams, participate in sustainability meetings, and support preparation of meeting minutes.
• Review design drawings, specifications, sustainability plans, procedures, and monitoring trackers.
• Review contractor submissions, including technical material submittals, shop drawings, calculations, and reports; maintain KPI tracking documentation.

Certification, compliance, and site monitoring

• Support LEED, Estidama, and Al Sa'fat certification processes and prepare documentation for authority approvals.
• Check contractor submissions against sustainability requirements, specifications, QA/QC procedures, and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and support sustainability audits, including coordinating audits required by regulatory bodies.
• Monitor contractor CEMP implementation, report non-compliance, track NCNs and SINs, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Reporting, testing, and development

• Review contractor sustainability reports and help prepare monthly reports on environmental and sustainability performance for clients.
• Ensure inspections, sampling, and testing follow applicable standards; assist with material inspections and witness tests as required.
• Support research on sustainability materials, technologies, and best practices, and contribute to knowledge sharing and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.Eng or B.Tech) in engineering or a related discipline.
• Five to seven years of relevant experience in sustainability or related roles.
• ESTIDAMA PQP (PBRS and PCRS) qualification.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP qualification.
• WELL AP is an advantage.
