Company Description
Green Grid Designs is a specialist building performance and climate-responsive design consultancy focused on early-stage optimization for desert environments.
From its base in Dubai, the team collaborates with architects and developers across the GCC to reduce redesign risk, avoid compliance delays, and improve building performance through simulation-driven strategy.
The consultancy applies building performance modeling at concept stage, supporting decisions on energy use, comfort, and regulatory alignment when they have the greatest impact.
Core services include early-stage energy modeling, passive design optimization, envelope and shading strategy testing, and daylight and thermal performance simulations, with specific support for Al Sa’fat and Estidama frameworks.
Green Grid Designs offers applicants the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that embed performance intelligence into early design strategy.
Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid Sustainability Consultant role based in Dubai, with flexibility for part-time work from home.
The Sustainability Consultant will support project teams with early-stage performance analysis, including energy modeling, load forecasting, and climate-responsive design strategies for desert environments.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting performance simulations, preparing sustainability reports, and translating technical insights into clear recommendations for architects and developers.
The role involves contributing to Al Sa’fat, Estidama, and other regional compliance pathways, ensuring projects are aligned with relevant sustainability frameworks from concept through design development.
The Sustainability Consultant will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, participate in client meetings and design workshops, and help refine internal tools, methods, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Sustainability Consulting and Sustainable Development, with the ability to integrate sustainability principles into building and masterplanning projects.
- Strong Analytical Skills, including quantitative analysis, interpretation of simulation outputs, and data-driven decision support.
- Experience in Sustainability Reporting and Consulting, including the preparation of clear, client-ready reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with regional standards and frameworks (e.g., Estidama, Al Sa’fat, LEED, GSAS) and an understanding of desert climate design challenges.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in sustainability, environmental engineering, architecture, building services, or a related field.
- Proficiency with building performance modeling or simulation tools (e.g., IESVE, DesignBuilder, EnergyPlus, Ladybug Tools, similar platforms).
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary design teams and explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
