RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete daily prep tasks
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with the restaurant’s recipes regarding portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines
  • Provide courteous and informative customer service in an “open kitchen” format
  • Follow restaurant guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance, and equipment/space cleaning requirements at all times
  • Maintain a clean and safe workstation
  • POSITION DETAILS:
  • This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.
  • LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months (permanent hire conversion based on performance and business need)
  • LOCATION: Brownsville, TX

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience in the food service industry
  • Must be willing to travel to various SpaceX locations for mission critical projects
  • Valid state issued driver's license
  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends and holiday(s) as needed
  • Ability to carry large, heavy items unassisted (up to 25lbs)
  • Must have the ability to stand for long periods – up to 8-12 hours a day.
  • Able to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects through entire shift
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.   • Sushi kitchen experience
  • Restaurant experience
  • High volume experience
  • Experience with a daily changing menu
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain a food handlers card or equivalent
  • High level of professionalism
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
