JOB TITLE: SUSE Linux Consultant

LOCATION: UAE (Defense Sector) | TYPE: Contract / Full-time | URGENT | Arabic Speaking Required | Security Clearance Required

⚠ IMPORTANT: This role is for a defense sector customer. The selected candidate must be willing and eligible to undergo a government security clearance process. Arabic language proficiency is mandatory.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are urgently seeking a SUSE-certified Linux Consultant to support a defense sector client in the UAE. You will provide hands-on technical expertise in SUSE Linux Enterprise environments, supporting deployment, configuration, hardening, and ongoing operations within a secure, classified infrastructure environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Deploy, configure, and administer SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) environments within a secure defense infrastructure.

- Perform system hardening, patch management, and security baseline implementation aligned with defense-sector standards.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux system issues across servers and related infrastructure components.

- Support high-availability configurations, failover testing, and disaster recovery procedures.

- Manage storage, networking, and virtualisation integrations within SUSE environments.

- Produce technical documentation, configuration records, and operational reports in both English and Arabic as required.

- Liaise directly with defense client stakeholders in Arabic for day-to-day operations and project coordination.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 3+ years of hands-on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) administration and consulting experience.

- Strong knowledge of Linux system administration: storage management, networking, user/group management, and performance tuning.

- Experience with security hardening, patching, and compliance implementation on Linux systems.

- Familiarity with virtualisation platforms (VMware, KVM) and enterprise storage integration.

- Arabic language proficiency — fluent spoken and written Arabic is mandatory for this role.

- Clean background with eligibility to obtain government/defense security clearance — non-negotiable.

- Prior experience in defense, government, or critical national infrastructure environments is strongly preferred.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

- SUSE Certified Engineer (SCE) — mandatory, must hold a valid SUSE certification

- SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) — acceptable for mid-level candidates

- RHCE / RHCSA — valued as supporting Linux certification

- CompTIA Linux+ / Security+ — advantageous
