Supply Chain Manager

Role purpose

Sourcing, planning, stores, and logistics

• Own category strategies for direct, indirect, services, and capital; approve vendors, rate contracts, and purchase orders within delegated authority.
• Lead major, long-lead, and single-source negotiations; drive savings, should-cost, make-versus-buy, and indigenization.
• Own material plans against program and build schedules; set reorder, safety-stock, and inventory norms; manage shortages and material readiness.
• Govern stock accuracy, traceability, preservation, disposition, ageing, non-moving and obsolete inventory; manage inventory levels, payment terms, and vendor advances with Finance.
• Govern inbound freight, imports, and dispatch; control landed and freight costs; appoint customs house agents and forwarders; meet GST, customs, transport, export-control, and dangerous-goods requirements.
• Maintain dual sources and manage long-lead, single-source, import-dependency, electronics-obsolescence, counterfeit-part, product-safety, and program-continuity risks.

Governance, systems, and leadership

• Own SCM quality procedures, records, approval matrix, and external-provider controls with QA in line with AS9100D; account for free-issue and customer- or government-owned stock.
• Face internal, customer, DGAQA, and CEMILAC audits and close non-conformities.
• Define SCM ERP requirements across procurement, stores, and logistics; drive configuration and rollout with IT or the implementation partner and enforce transaction discipline.
• Publish management MIS on material readiness, spend, savings, inventory ageing, and vendor performance.
• Structure, staff, train, and appraise the SCM team; develop managers and associates, manage KRAs and delegated authority, and own procurement, freight, and inventory budgets.

Experience and qualifications

• 12+ years in supply chain management in engineering manufacturing, including aerospace, defence, aviation, automobile, electronics, or precision engineering.
• At least 5 years leading the complete supply chain function across procurement, stores, and logistics, with managers reporting in.
• Supply chain leadership in engineering or manufacturing under ISO 9001 or a derived standard, including relevant sector standards.
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Electronics.
• MBA/PGDM in SCM/Operations or CSCP/CPSM is an added advantage.
• Aerospace/defence products, UAV, drone, VTOL, or simulator manufacturing experience is desirable.

Role capabilities

• Establish supply chain procedures, controls, ERP requirements, vendor base, and team with QA, then run the function hands-on.
• Work effectively with a lean team, limited structure, and flexible role boundaries, including when program deliveries or flight trials require extra effort.
