Supply Chain and Operations Manager

Role overview

Inventory and freshness

• Segment SKUs by sales velocity and set minimum, maximum and reorder points.
• Forecast demand using sales history, seasonality and promotions; monitor days of cover and stock turnover.
• Identify slow-moving products and propose clearance plans before stock becomes dead stock.
• Maintain a live expiry register, apply FEFO at each storage location and confirm remaining shelf life with suppliers.
• Flag near-expiry products early and agree sell-through plans with marketing.

Procurement and imports

• Plan purchasing cycles and raise purchase orders based on stock, lead times and minimum order quantities.
• Match purchase orders, goods received and supplier invoices; resolve discrepancies and maintain procurement and cost records.
• Manage international shipments, including supplier coordination, freight booking, documentation, customs clearance and delivery.
• Compare freight providers and shipping modes; coordinate with customs brokers on UAE food import, labelling and registration requirements.

Warehouse and suppliers

• Oversee stock at the 3PL fulfilment partner and secondary storage facility; run cycle counts and reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Ensure new stock is received and booked in promptly, and manage logistics partners’ service levels, costs and relationships.
• Build supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs and shelf-life commitments, and monitor performance.

Wholesale, pricing and reporting

• Manage wholesale accounts from order processing and allocation through delivery, and identify new retail, corporate and hospitality opportunities.
• Benchmark retail and wholesale prices and recommend product listings and range retirements using sales and market data.
• Report on sales, inventory, inbound deliveries and expiry; notify relevant teams when stock arrives and inventory is updated.
• Document processes and keep stock movements traceable.

Experience and education

• At least 5 years in supply chain, inventory or operations; FMCG, food and beverage, grocery or e-commerce experience is ideal.
• Hands-on UAE import experience, including freight forwarders, customs brokers and food import regulations.
• Experience managing 3PL inventory and shelf-life-sensitive products; exposure to wholesale operations and supplier negotiations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related field; CIPS or APICS (CPIM/CSCP) is a plus.

Skills and preferred experience

• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, lookups and forecasting.
• Comfort with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms and inventory or ERP systems.
• Understanding of bookkeeping basics, landed cost and margin calculation; strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent English communication; Arabic is a plus. Experience in specialty food categories and familiarity with Dubai Municipality food registration and labelling are nice to have.
