Role purpose

Shift and staff supervision

• Coordinates with shift controllers or coordinators to implement the integrated security plan.
• Plans rosters and schedules to ensure facility coverage during assigned shifts.
• Monitors shift activities and investigates incidents, complaints, and other problems.
• Ensures staff understand security and emergency procedures and are trained to operate security equipment.
• Supervises assigned security staff, access control, surveillance, procedures, and work orders.
• Manages shift handovers and ensures activities, incidents, and equipment conditions are logged and reported.

Site security and incident response

• Assigns security posts and patrols and monitors checks of people, vehicles, identity cards, permits, and property at gates.
• Conducts assigned inspections, audits, and surveys and oversees patrol, surveillance, and search activities.
• Responds to alarms and incidents, investigates, takes action under applicable plans, and reports findings to security management.
• Escorts high-risk materials, VIP staff, and visitors as required.
• Monitors parking, traffic flow, speed limits, and vehicle compliance on site.
• Maintains barriers, lighting, alarms, CCTV, and communications equipment and reports deficiencies.
• Ensures records are kept for visitors, vehicles, materials, security activities, and incidents.
• Trains and guides security staff and briefs them on policy and procedure changes.
• Administers staff leave and emergency contact records and participates in performance appraisals.

Minimum qualifications

• A relevant bachelor's degree and five years of relevant security experience are listed as minimum qualifications.
• The posting also states a minimum of five or fifteen years of industrial security experience depending on education level.
• Requires five years of security experience at supervisor level.
• Requires advanced or at least medium-level verbal and written English communication.
• Requires qualification and skill in MS Office applications.
• Previous military or law-enforcement experience is an advantage.
