Supervise banquet operations and help ensure coordinated staff, well-prepared event spaces, and guest needs are met.
Banquet events and service
- Respond to special banquet event arrangements and coordinate with guests, employees, and departments.
- Set up banquet rooms and areas, maintaining cleanliness and arranging furniture and equipment appropriately.
- Inspect table settings for cleanliness, neatness, group requirements, and company standards; resolve issues.
- Record pertinent information in the department logbook.
- Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and provide courteous service.
Team supervision and standards
- Promote teamwork and inspect staff grooming and attire, correcting deficiencies.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Build positive working relationships and support team goals.
- Follow company, safety, and security policies; report accidents and unsafe conditions and complete safety training.
- Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and company assets; meet quality expectations and communicate professionally.
Preferred qualifications and physical demands
- At least one year of related work experience and one year of supervisory experience are preferred.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- The role involves extended periods standing, sitting, or walking; lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 75 pounds with assistance; and reaching, bending, and navigating uneven surfaces.
