Substitute - Child Nutrition Worker

To assist in serving students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.

• Prepare and serve food according to established procedures and methods
• Use and care for equipment properly
• Apply the rules of safety and sanitation to insure care in food handling, safety in work, and reduction of accidents
• Assist in assigned clean-up operations following food preparation or a serving period.
• Capable of lifting forty (40) pounds
• Meet requirements established by the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and Summer Feeding Program
• Duties, areas and campus assignments subject to change at the discretion of the campus principal, campus supervisor or Child Nutrition Director

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Read and Speak English Required

• Demonstrates good personal appearance and cleanliness in work habits

• Tools/Equipment Used: Uses large and small kitchen equipment to include electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer, deep-fat fryer, and sharp cutting tools; ovens; dishwasher; and food and utility carts
• Posture/Motion/Environment: Continual standing, walking, pushing, and pulling; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and climbing (ladder); moderate lifting and carrying; moderate exposure to extreme hot and/or cold temperatures. Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Mental Demands: Understands verbal instructions
