Purpose and Scope
This position is a temporary 90-day contract based in Abu Dhabi, focused on maintaining and repairing a wide range of structural components.
The role supports pre-engineered permanent, semi-permanent, and temporary infrastructure, including tension fabric shelters, trailer offices, lodging units, water closets, metal ladders, stairs, railings, and air conditioning support structures.
All activities are aligned to support operations at Al Dhafra Air Base under the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFC AP).
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair structural components including doors, roofing systems, flooring systems, foundations, gutter systems, and surface coverings.
- Perform metal and fabric repair, fabrication work, and welding support including oxy/acetylene cutting, corrosion control, pavement painting and striping, and concrete form work.
- Remove, refurbish, or demolish existing facilities as required.
- Apply and maintain protective coatings including sealants, epoxies, adhesives, paints, and fencing systems.
- Carry out interior finish repairs including acoustic ceiling tiles, sheetrock walls, and ceiling systems.
Carpentry Installation And Repairs
- Full door replacement
- Repair and installation of door handles, hinges, and closers
- Flooring repairs including subfloor work
- General interior facility maintenance
- Drywall repair including finishing, sanding, and painting
- Repair and replacement of roofing materials
Masonry Installation And Repairs
- Concrete masonry unit
- (CMU) work
- Brick construction
- Tile installation from start to completion
- Concrete formwork
Sheet Metal Installation And Repairs
- Ductwork installation and repair
- Metal patchwork (excluding ducts)
- Roll-up door installation and repair
Welding Installation And Repairs
- Welding operations
- Cutting processes
- Brazing techniques
Tension Fabric Systems (Tfs)
- General knowledge and maintenance of tension fabric systems.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of construction.
- Ability to read and write English is required.
- Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate US Government Clearance level. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
