Structure Lead Engineer

Role overview

Structural design and coordination

• Lead technical review of structural designs, calculations, reports, FEA, shop drawings, specifications, and engineering submissions.
• Verify reinforced concrete, steel, composite, precast, foundation, and other structural designs.
• Coordinate structural interfaces across civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, airfield, utilities, ICT, security, and baggage-handling disciplines.
• Lead value engineering, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and evaluation of design changes.
• Participate in BIM coordination, clash detection, design reviews, and multidisciplinary meetings.

Construction, compliance, and reporting

• Support construction, installation, temporary works, testing, and commissioning; review contractor drawings, methods, proposals, RFIs, and material submissions.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues affecting construction, structural performance, and delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, airport authorities, consultants, contractors, utility providers, and regulators; support technical approvals.
• Monitor compliance with project requirements, codes, quality standards, and approved construction procedures.
• Prepare reports, technical advice, progress and risk updates, design-review records, and closeout and handover documentation.
• Promote safety-in-design, safe construction, HSE compliance, environmental requirements, resilience, and continuous improvement.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of structural design, design review, and construction supervision experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with airport terminals, airfield facilities, transportation hubs, or large-scale infrastructure developments.
• Strong experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel, composite structures, deep foundations, retaining structures, and complex buildings.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary coordination and stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, BS Standards, IBC, and local regulatory requirements.
• Experience with ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, RAM Structural System, or equivalent; familiarity with BIM platforms.

Desired qualifications

• A master's degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage.
• PE, CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent professional registration is desirable.
• International airport expansion or greenfield airport experience; aviation-related standards, FIDIC, advanced structural design, resilience, or Design-Build, EPC, PMC, and Delivery Partner experience are desirable.
