Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 3D models, shop drawings, and erection drawings for structural steel
- Interpret architectural and structural engineering drawings and specifications
- Develop steel connection details in accordance with applicable codes and standards
- Coordinate with engineers, fabricators, and contractors to resolve design issues
- Update drawings based on RFI's, revisions, and site feedback
- Prepare material lists and fabrication-ready documentation
- Maintain organized drawing files and project records
- Provide technical support to fabrication and erection teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2+ years of 3D drafting experience in structural steel detailing
- Knowledge of detailing and fabrication standards (AISC, AWS, ASTM, EN or equivalent)
- Experience producing steel shop and erection drawings
- Experience with commercial, industrial or complex steel structures
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection process
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
Software Skills
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, AutoCAD 3D, or similar software
- Experience with 3D modeling, drawing extraction, and clash detection
- Familiarity with BIM workflows
- Basic proficiency in MS Office or equivalent tools
