Role overview

Inspection and quality duties

• Inspect structural works daily for compliance with IFC and shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Monitor contractor practices against UAE authority requirements and international standards; identify deviations and issue SORs and NCRs with actionable recommendations.
• Inspect concrete, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations, waterproofing interfaces, and other structural elements.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, specialists, and contractors to resolve issues and verify corrective actions.
• Check contractor testing, documentation, and quality records, including cube tests, FDT, plate load tests, and calibration certificates.
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, and QA/QC procedures; guide contractors in resolving structural issues.
• Maintain inspection records with photographs, detailed comments, and compliance notes; use digital inspection and QA/QC systems to record findings and track progress.
• Follow health and safety protocols and report inspection results to stakeholders through technical reports.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least eight years of structural site inspection experience in the UAE construction industry; consultant experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of structural materials, workmanship, defects, and deterioration mechanisms.
• Knowledge of UAE building codes, authority requirements, and relevant international standards.
• Ability to interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, ITPs, and method statements accurately.
• Proficiency with inspection tools, site testing coordination, documentation procedures, and technical reporting; familiarity with digital inspection or QA/QC systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
• Valid UAE driver's license and ability to travel between sites; able to access constrained or elevated structural elements when needed.
• Commitment to health and safety, professional ethics, quality standards, teamwork, and adapting to site and weather conditions.

Preferred qualifications

• Site safety certification such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
• Experience preparing and managing NCRs and SORs; proficiency with inspection software and digital documentation tools.
• Knowledge of concrete testing protocols, including cube tests, FDT, and plate load tests; photography and visual documentation skills.
• Arabic language proficiency.
• Immediate availability to commence employment.

Workplace

• The role is site based and may require travel between project sites.
