Role overview
Target Metal Industries seeks a Structural Engineer with structural steel fabrication and industrial project experience.
The role involves structural analysis, design coordination, technical drawings, and checking compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations for steel structures and industrial facilities.
- Review and prepare structural, fabrication, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, draftsmen, production teams, and site engineers on design accuracy and project compliance.
- Review shop drawings, connection details, material specifications, and erection drawings.
- Support fabrication and installation teams and resolve engineering issues.
- Ensure compliance with structural design codes, project specifications, and applicable safety standards.
- Coordinate technical matters with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Monitor design changes and maintain documentation and revision control.
- Conduct site inspections when required and check structural work against approved drawings and specifications.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Three years of experience in structural steel design, fabrication, and industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel design principles, connection detailing, and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant structural analysis/design software.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Qatar or GCC steel fabrication industry experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively under project deadlines.
Work location
- The position is full-time and in person in Qatar.
