Role overview

Plan and design structures and facilities for infrastructure projects and analyze proposed work for structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

The role may cover civil engineering subdisciplines such as geotechnical, municipal/urban, water resources, materials, or coastal engineering.

Engineering design and documentation

  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and procurement and construction materials using CAE/CAD as applicable.
  • Prepare engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, designs, equipment and material requisitions, specifications, and data sheets.
  • Review supplier drawing submittals and assist with technical bid analyses.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters, designers, and lower-level engineers.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and at least 7 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of the BIM process and working knowledge of CAD and engineering-related PC software.

Additional qualification

  • An Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate may be required.
