Structural Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design steel buildings, platforms, canopies, roof structures, and extensions, including members, connections, base plates, and anchor bolts.
• Prepare calculations, design reports, technical submissions, and shop, fabrication, erection, and connection drawings.
• Use STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Prokon, and AutoCAD for structural engineering work.
• Coordinate design submissions and approvals with Dubai Municipality and other authorities; ensure compliance with applicable regulations and design codes.
• Review drawings for conflicts and coordinate with consultants, project managers, draftsmen, fabricators, and site teams.
• Support fabrication, installation, and erection; inspect sites and resolve technical issues.
• Review steel materials, grades, welding, bolts, and fabrication requirements; ensure safety, stability, serviceability, and project compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Valid Dubai Municipality steel contracting licence/approval or the specific required DM registration is mandatory.
• 3–5 years of structural steel engineering experience; UAE experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of steel and connection design, detailing, codes, fabrication standards, welding, and bolted connections.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, ETABS, and other relevant structural design software.
• Experience with fabrication and erection drawings, structural calculations, and Dubai Municipality approvals.
• Steel contracting, fabrication, and site installation experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills; able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Pay

• Pay is AED 8,000–10,000 per month.

Work location

• Work is in person in Dubai, UAE.
