The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead contract negotiations, optimize supplier relationships, and monitor supplier performance to align with organizational standards and nonprofit compliance requirements.

In collaboration with internal stakeholders, this position will develop sourcing plans for key categories, mitigate risk in the supply base, and support budget planning and forecasting.

The role will also contribute to process improvements, implement best practices in procurement, and produce regular reports and insights for leadership and partner organizations.

Qualifications

  • Strong procurement skills, including experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and purchasing processes.
  • Proficiency in supplier evaluation and supplier development, including assessing capabilities, quality, and risk.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier management, including performance monitoring, relationship building, and issue resolution.
  • Proven contract negotiation skills, including developing negotiation strategies and drafting or reviewing commercial terms.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a mission-driven or nonprofit environment.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret data, build cost models, and develop sourcing recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings and influence decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are a plus.
  • Experience with remote work, self-management, and the use of digital collaboration and procurement tools.
  • Familiarity with community-focused or public-sector projects and an interest in advancing affordability, livability, education, and resilience is highly beneficial.
