Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pitch, and close distribution partnerships with airlines, OTAs, travel agencies, insurance aggregators, brokers, travel-tech, and insurtech platforms across focused markets.
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, commercial negotiation, closing, onboarding, and account growth.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of travel-trade partners, meeting and exceeding revenue and GWP targets.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, commission structures, and distribution models with partners.
  • Work closely with product and fintech/integration teams to scope embedded insurance and API integrations for partners.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for signed partners, driving attach rates and product performance.
  • Represent SIMA at industry events, trade shows, and partner meetings.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and CRM records, reporting to the Head of Strategic Partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record selling travel insurance or travel-related products (ancillary, OTA retailing, airline distribution) —

  • Travel insurance sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Executive level: 2+ years in travel insurance / travel ancillary sales. Manager level: 5+ years with a demonstrable book of closed partnerships.
  • Existing relationships within airlines, OTAs, insurance aggregators, brokers, or the travel trade in focused markets is strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Fluent written and spoken English. Local language proficiency a strong advantage.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a closing mindset.
  • Deep understanding of the focused country travel distribution landscape.
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and comfortable owning a market independently.
  • Well organized and deadline-driven; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Discretion, integrity, and sound judgement in handling commercial and confidential matters.
