Storekeeper – Construction Chemicals Factory

Job Purpose

The Storekeeper is responsible for the safe receipt, storage, handling, issuance, and inventory control of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products used in the manufacture of construction chemicals.

The role includes managing hazardous, flammable, sensitive, and temperature-controlled materials while ensuring compliance with company procedures, HSE requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations.

Inventory Management

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock accuracy within the system.
  • Conduct cycle counts and support periodic inventory audits.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving items.

Hazardous and Flammable Material Management

  • Safely handle, store, and issue flammable, corrosive, reactive, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company procedures.
  • Ensure proper segregation of incompatible materials.
  • Verify that all containers are correctly labeled and stored in designated locations.
  • Inspect storage areas regularly and report damaged containers, leaks, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with fire safety requirements and hazardous material storage regulations.

Temperature-Controlled and Sensitive Materials

  • Store and monitor materials requiring controlled temperature conditions, including products requiring refrigerated or cold storage.
  • Record and monitor storage temperatures according to approved procedures.
  • Ensure cold-storage equipment is functioning properly and report temperature deviations immediately.
  • Maintain product integrity by ensuring temperature-sensitive materials are handled, stored, and issued within specified conditions.
  • Apply FIFO and FEFO (First Expiry First Out) principles to temperature-sensitive and shelf-life-controlled materials.
  • Quarantine and report any material exposed to temperatures outside approved limits.

Material Issuance and Production Support

  • Prepare and issue materials to production according to approved requisitions.
  • Ensure full batch traceability and proper documentation of issued materials.
  • Return, identify, and record unused materials from production activities.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, and Procurement departments to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

  • Follow all HSE, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Wear and maintain required PPE when handling chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Participate in emergency response, spill control, and fire prevention activities.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the warehouse and storage areas.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–5 years of warehouse/storekeeping experience.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, construction chemicals, paints, coatings, adhesives, or related industries preferred.
  • Experience handling hazardous, flammable, and temperature-sensitive materials is highly desirable.

  • Zero chemical handling incidents
  • Zero temperature excursion incidents due to warehouse negligence
  • On-time material issuance to production
  • Full traceability of all raw materials and finished products
  • Compliance with warehouse safety and housekeeping standards
