Role Overview

FITT Meals are seeking a Store Porter wo will be responsible for the physically receiving, storage, and transfer of raw materials and supplies, while also maintaining accurate system records.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of F&B inventory practices, food safety standards, and stock management systems.

We require an energetic, experienced, and enthusiastic individual who can start almost immediately.

Responsibilities

  • **Receiving & Inspection**
  • Receive incoming deliveries of raw materials, food products, beverages, and dry goods in accordance with purchase orders.
  • Inspect all deliveries for quantity, quality, temperature (for chilled/frozen items), and expiry dates, and report discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
  • Verify supplier delivery notes against approved purchase orders before accepting any goods.
  • Reject and document any goods that do not meet quality, quantity, or hygiene standards.

Storage & Organisation

  • Store all received items in the correct designated locations following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions are maintained for different product categories — dry, chilled, and frozen.
  • Label all stock clearly with date of receipt and expiry dates where applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free storeroom at all times in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).

Stock Transfers & Issuance

  • Process internal store transfer requests physically — pick, pack, and deliver items to the correct departments.
  • Record all stock transfers and issuances accurately in the inventory/ERP system (e.g., Micros, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
  • Ensure transfers are supported by approved store requisitions before releasing any goods.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, production, to fulfil daily stock requirements in a timely manner.

Inventory Management

  • Assist in conducting regular stock counts, cycle counts, and monthly physical inventory checks.
  • Identify and report slow-moving, near-expiry, or damaged items to the Store Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure system stock levels match physical stock at all times.
  • Raise alerts for low stock levels to avoid operational shortages.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain proper filing of delivery notes, goods received notes (GRN), store requisitions, and transfer records.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted to the relevant department on time.
  • Comply with all company policies, food safety standards, and health & hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate records and documentation.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a store, warehouse, or storeroom role within the Food & Beverage or hospitality industry.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory/ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Micros Materials Control, or similar).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of F&B products, raw materials, and ingredients including dry goods, chilled, and frozen items.
  • Understanding of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and proper storage temperatures.
  • Good numeracy skills and attention to detail for accurate stock recording.
  • Physically fit and able to lift, carry, and move heavy stock items.
  • Basic computer literacy for system-based stock entries.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work with kitchen and operational teams.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced F&B environment.

Working Conditions

  • Shift-based work including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as per operational requirements.
  • Work involves physical activity including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures including chilled and frozen storage areas.
