Position summary
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including dishwashing machines, hand-wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
Clean and sanitize kitchenware and work areas, support delivery storage and stock rotation, and maintain waste and recycling areas.
Cleaning and stewarding duties
- Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock; store clean wares in appropriate areas.
- Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals to clean dishes; inspect, stack, and rewash items as needed.
- Rack and spray items with hot water, sort and wash silverware, and break down dirty bus tubs.
- Empty and maintain trashcans and the dumpster area; clean and mop assigned areas.
- Dispose of glass properly and place cardboard and other recyclables in recycling bins.
Work expectations
- Follow company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Complete safety training and certifications, protect company assets, communicate professionally, and support team goals and quality standards.
- Move and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop as required.
Preferred qualifications
- No high school diploma or GED, related work experience, supervisory experience, license, or certification is specified as necessary.
