Role overview

Responsibilities

• Position and secure reinforcement bars and mesh in concrete formwork according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, structural plans, and technical documentation for accurate steel placement.
• Tie and bind reinforcement to maintain structural alignment.
• Inspect steel placement for quality and compliance with project specifications and UAE building codes.
• Organize steel materials on site and maintain records of completed work and material usage.
• Coordinate activities with construction teams, engineers, and supervisors.
• Follow safety protocols, use personal protective equipment, identify hazards, and report structural concerns.
• Verify reinforcement meets design requirements before concrete pouring.

Required qualifications

• Proven Steel Fixer or reinforcement steel work experience on construction projects.
• Proficiency reading construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong knowledge of steel-fixing techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Familiarity with UAE construction codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and accident prevention.
• Physical capability to perform manual labor and work at heights.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team.

Preferred experience

• Experience with CAD software or digital construction documentation is preferred.
• High-rise or large-scale infrastructure project experience is preferred.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior Steel Fixers is preferred.

Work arrangement

• Construction role based in Dubai; work is performed on construction sites.
