In this role, you will be responsible for transporting passengers or riding along to aid the bus driver along designated routes in a safe and timely manner. You must adhere to all traffic laws and company regulations while providing excellent customer service to our passengers. Qualifications: - Education: - High School Diploma or equivalent - Training and Experience: - CDL preferred, but not required, willing to train Essential Job Functions: - Safely Transporting Students: Driving (or riding) a school bus to ensure the safe transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other activities. - Following Traffic Laws: Adhering strictly to traffic laws and school bus regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users. - Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance checks on the bus to ensure it is safe and in good working condition. - Emergency Procedures: Knowing and implementing emergency procedures in case of accidents, breakdowns, or other emergencies. - Communication: Maintaining effective communication with students, parents, school staff, and transportation authorities. - Monitoring Students: Ensuring that students behave appropriately and safely while on the bus, maintaining discipline when necessary. - Route Familiarity: Being familiar with the assigned route and ensuring timely arrival and departure from stops. - Paperwork and Documentation: Completing required paperwork, such as daily logs, incident reports, and mileage records. - Training and Development: Participating in ongoing training and development programs related to driving skills, safety procedures, and student management.
