Staff Software Engineer II - Java, Microservices, Springboot & Cloud

Scope and Responsibilities

• Develop features across multiple application submodules.
• Collaborate on requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing, debugging, effort estimation, quality improvement, and deployment.
• Design, develop, and manage automated unit and acceptance tests.
• Drive architecture and designs to become simpler, more robust, and more efficient.
• Write and review service descriptions with relevant service-quality measures.
• Drive self-healing, reliable services that require minimal manual intervention.
• Provide early visibility into and mitigation of technical challenges.
• Represent product and portfolio vision and technical roadmaps internally and with strategic customers when needed.

Technical Environment

• Software technologies include Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, Git, Hibernate, REST API, and OAuth.
• The application architecture is scalable, resilient, event-driven, secure, and based on multi-tenant microservices.
• The cloud environment includes Microsoft Azure, ARM templates, AKS, HDInsight, Application Gateway, virtual networks, Event Hub, and Azure AD.
• Other frameworks and technologies include Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, NoSQL, RDBMS, and GitHub.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree is required, with STEM preferred.
• The role requires 14–16 years of software development experience.
• An ideal candidate progressed from Software Engineer to Lead Software Engineer and Architect, with at least five years as an Architect.
• Strong enterprise Java programming experience is required.
• Experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining enterprise cloud solutions in Azure is required.
• Experience with cloud-scale microservices architecture is required.
• Experience implementing event-driven architecture with Kafka, Spark, or similar technologies is required.
• Hands-on development skills combined with architecture and design experience are required.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture, distributed microservices, multi-tenant SaaS, scalability, performance, and high availability is required.
• Experience with API management and RESTful APIs is required.
• Experience with the listed application, cloud, database, container, and security technologies is required.
• Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, infrastructure automation, and secure identity-focused architecture is required.
