Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain backend systems and data infrastructure for high-volume integrations and real-time events.
• Build backend and frontend product features using Node.js, React, and serverless frameworks.
• Set architecture direction for data pipelines and integrations; document standards for scale.
• Collaborate with architects, R&D, product, and engineering stakeholders on capabilities and performance.
• Lead or participate in design and planning meetings; scope and break down future work.
• Own and prioritize deliverables in Jira and support agile planning.
• Troubleshoot issues with customer support and success teams and explain technical findings.
• Research technologies and improve product performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Lead projects end to end, manage stakeholder communication, and anticipate blockers.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to code reviews, and build standards and tooling that scale team effectiveness.

Must-have qualifications

• At least 5 years of software development experience and a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL systems, especially Elasticsearch or DynamoDB.
• Experience building and deploying applications with AWS services including Lambda, VPC, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, SQS, and Kinesis.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for full-stack development.
• Practical experience designing and maintaining scalable, cost-efficient serverless infrastructure.
• Experience with data warehousing tools such as Snowflake and reliable data pipelines.
• Comfort with Jira, agile ceremonies, feature planning, independent ownership, and mentoring.

Additional qualifications

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, including CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, or Serverless Framework.
• React or similar modern frontend framework experience is a nice-to-have.
• Information security knowledge and experience with additional programming languages are nice-to-haves.
