Staff Software Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure and control-plane services across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, management, and monitoring of Teradata Cloud services, sites, and offerings.
• Develop threat models to secure cloud services and meet compliance standards.
• Build AI-powered features and agents, from ideation and prototyping through production deployment and lifecycle management.
• Use AI-assisted engineering workflows to turn generated prototypes into production-ready systems.
• Work with UX, product management, and platform teams on product ideas and technical designs.
• Maintain code quality through usability patterns, coding standards, integration, testing, and code review.
• Review engineering designs, architecture, and code.

Minimum requirements

• Graduate or bachelor's degree in computer science.
• At least 8 years of hands-on software development experience.
• At least 5 years designing, building, and operating complex distributed software systems on Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure.
• Experience with DevOps software development methods.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one modern general-purpose programming language, such as Go or Python.
• Experience developing AI agents and AI-powered features and operationalizing them for organizational use.

Additional experience

• Full-stack development, RESTful services, and Teradata or other TDMS NoSQL/SQL database concepts.
• Docker container technologies and Kubernetes management or service development.
• Supporting mission-critical, 24x7 systems and influencing software engineering practices.
• Scripting for automation, reports, and tools, including Go, Python, or Shell.
• AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud infrastructure, at-scale service architecture, and cloud networking.
• AWS infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
