Staff Software Engineer

Role overview

What you'll do

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure and control-plane services for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, management, and monitoring of Teradata Cloud services, sites, and offerings.
• Develop threat models to secure cloud platform services and meet compliance standards.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering and convert AI-generated prototypes into production-ready systems.
• Design and integrate AI-powered features and agent-based workflows using LLM technologies.
• Develop AI agents from ideation through production release; operationalize them with deployment pipelines, containerization, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with UX, product management, and platform engineering on product ideas and technical designs.
• Apply maintainable-code practices, including usability patterns, coding standards, integration, testing, and code review; review engineering designs, architectures, and code.

Minimum requirements

• Graduate or bachelor's degree in computer science.
• At least 8 years of hands-on software development experience.
• At least 5 years designing, building, and operating distributed software systems on Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure.
• Experience with DevOps software development methods.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one modern general-purpose programming language, such as Go or Python.

Additional experience

• Full-stack development; RESTful services; Teradata or other TDMS NoSQL/SQL database concepts.
• Docker technologies, Kubernetes management and service development, and support for mission-critical 24x7 systems.
• Influence on team software-engineering practices and scripting for automation, reporting, and tool creation, such as Go, Python, or Shell.
• AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud infrastructure and architecture for services serving businesses or the public at scale.
• Cloud networking, including VPCs, ACLs, subnets, peering, DNS, and firewalls; AWS infrastructure as code with CloudFormation or Terraform.
