Staff Software Engineer

Role overview

What you'll do

• Design and implement cloud services that manage infrastructure and control planes on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, management, and monitoring of Teradata Cloud services, sites, and offerings.
• Develop threat models to help secure cloud platform services and meet compliance standards.
• Drive AI-accelerated development, turning AI-generated prototypes into production-ready systems.
• Design, build, and operationalize AI-powered features, agents, and agent-based workflows using LLM technologies.
• Work with UX, product management, and platform engineering on product ideas and technical designs.
• Promote maintainable code, testing, integration, code style, and code review; participate in design, architecture, and code reviews.

Minimum requirements

• Graduate or bachelor's degree in computer science.
• At least 8 years of hands-on software development experience.
• At least 5 years designing, building, and operating distributed complex systems on Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure.
• Experience with DevOps development methods; strong data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis fundamentals.
• Proficiency in at least one modern general-purpose language, such as Go or Python.

Additional experience

• Full-stack development; RESTful services; Teradata or other TDMS NoSQL/SQL database concepts.
• Docker, Kubernetes, mission-critical 24x7 systems, and influence on software engineering practices.
• Scripting with languages such as Go, Python, or Shell.
• AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud infrastructure and networking, including VPCs, ACLs, subnets, peering, DNS, and firewalls.
• Architecture for services operating at business or public scale across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• AWS infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
