Staff Software Engineer

Role overview

What you’ll do

• Design and implement cloud services managing infrastructure and control planes on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, management, and monitoring of Teradata Cloud services, sites, and offerings.
• Develop threat models to secure cloud platform services and meet compliance standards.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering practices and convert AI-generated prototypes into production-ready systems.
• Build AI-powered features, agent workflows, and agents through production release.
• Operationalize agents with deployment pipelines, containers, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate on product ideas and technical designs; apply maintainable coding, testing, and review practices.

Minimum requirements

• Graduate or bachelor’s degree in computer science and 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• 5+ years designing, building, and operating complex distributed software systems on Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure.
• Experience with DevOps methods, full-stack development, RESTful services, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis; proficiency in Go or Python.
• Experience supporting mission-critical, 24x7 systems and influencing software engineering best practices.
• Scripting experience for automation, reports, and tools, such as with Go, Python, or Shell.

Cloud and platform experience

• Proven AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud infrastructure experience, including designing services that operate at business or public scale.
• Hands-on cloud networking knowledge, including VPCs, ACLs, subnets, peering, DNS, and firewalls.
• AWS infrastructure-as-code experience with CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Experience with Teradata or other TDMS SQL/NoSQL database concepts.
