Staff Software Development Engineer

Key responsibilities
- ● Serves as the functional lead, possess deep knowledge of core systems and takes full responsibility for the team's code, design, and project delivery, ensuring high quality and on-time completion
- ● Tackles complex technical challenges independently for complex systems, demonstrating technical depth and proficiency in multiple programming languages
- ● Identify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and areas for optimization
- ● Contribute to architectural discussions, propose innovative solutions, and evaluate trade-offs to make informed technical decisions
- ● Collaborate with product managers to decompose large projects into manageable tasks and prioritize work effectively
- ● Build the next-generation user experience and the platforms required to enable intuitive content discovery for our customers
- ● Work with the engineering team to optimize applications for performance and scalability across various platforms, Mobile, Web, and Living Room devices
- ● Provide mentorship and guidance to other developers
Skills and attributes for success:
● Strong coding and designing skills (Java or Golang)
● Experience in building high-scale distributed domain-driven microservices
● Proficiency with databases like MySQL, NoSql (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB)
● Embrace new technologies and work with various tools and technologies to achieve the desired functionality
● Experience with AWS stacks like SQS, Dynamo DB, EKS, Aurora, etc. will be an added advantage
● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in production environments
● Communicate effectively with stakeholders and collaborate well within a team environment to achieve desired results
Preferred education and experience:
● Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field with 7-9 years of experience in backend development
