Role overview

What you will do

• Drive large-scale data initiatives from opportunity identification and technical design through delivery across teams and measurable outcomes.
• Partner with technical, product, legal, and security stakeholders on data governance and technical decisions.
• Assess third-party offerings and determine how they can be used at Coveo.
• Solve ambiguous engineering challenges, make technical trade-offs, and reduce complexity for platform users.
• Mentor developers, share expertise, and raise engineering standards and quality across teams.
• Improve developer productivity, platform reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Shape platform architecture and establish patterns for secure, reliable, scalable data capabilities.

Qualifications

• Extensive software development experience designing, building, and evolving complex distributed and data-intensive systems.
• Strong ability to model complex information as explicit data schemas or APIs and apply a platform-as-a-product mindset.
• Strong architectural judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate trade-offs, and independently drive high-impact initiatives.
• Demonstrated influence across teams and ability to align stakeholders with differing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and adaptable communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and foster collaboration.

Additional assets

• Experience with modern data platforms, particularly ML pipelines, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or large-scale data processing, is an asset.
• Experience with data governance, cross-team platforms and tools, technical presentations, or applying emerging technologies is an asset.
