About The Role
- We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Field Engineer to join our growing Professional Services team. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers, guiding them through the full lifecycle of API and microservices adoption using Kong’s platform.
- You will lead customer engagements from solution design and implementation to deployment and optimization, ensuring successful adoption, long-term value realization, and high customer satisfaction. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, consulting capability, and strong stakeholder management skills.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Professional Services / Consulting / Technical Implementation roles
- Hands-on experience with API gateways and API integrations
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API lifecycle management
- Proficiency in Linux environments and development tooling
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with application development (Java, Go, Python, or similar)
- Background in API Management / Middleware / SaaS platforms
- Exposure to Open Source technologies and communities
- Experience working in customer-facing consulting or enterprise environments
