Role overview

What you will do

• Lead architecture and technical decisions for core data-platform components, data models, synchronization patterns, and data workflows.
• Develop complex SQL Server and MongoDB features with performance, scalability, and security considerations.
• Partner with product, design, application, analytics, QA, documentation, support, and customer-engagement teams.
• Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices.
• Evaluate database environments and evolve platform data architecture and infrastructure.
• Modernize legacy ETL-style, batch, and synchronization workflows supporting core business operations.
• Define scalable data-pipeline and orchestration patterns that improve observability, supportability, recoverability, and resilience.
• Standardize synchronization, transformation, validation, and downstream-delivery patterns.
• Optimize operational and batch workloads through query tuning, indexing, workload analysis, and data lifecycle planning.
• Investigate complex technical issues and contribute to unit, integration, and performance testing.

What you will need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep Microsoft SQL Server expertise.
• Strong database internals, query optimization, performance tuning, SQL/T-SQL, database design, and data modeling skills.
• Understanding of SaaS, distributed systems, scalability, and high availability.
• Experience with Python, C/C++, C#, or other relevant programming languages.
• Experience building complex, maintainable, high-quality, high-performance software features.
• Experience modernizing ETL/ELT workflows, batch processing, synchronization services, or application-integrated data pipelines.
• English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension ability.

Preferred qualifications

• PostgreSQL and MongoDB experience is a plus.
• Advanced degrees are a plus.
• Technical leadership or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
• Microsoft SQL Server certifications are a plus.
