Sr Software Engineer, Cloud - Fusion (Hybrid, Sunnyvale)
Role Overview
Our Fusion product is seeking a Senior-to-Principal (Level 7) backend software Engineer to build out a platform product which provides core orchestration and workflow capabilities to all users of Crowdstrike’s Flagship offering, the Falcon Platform, while also offering plug-and-play access to the building block components of the lion's share of our codebase, as well as key feature components among our partner products.
Fusion – a core ‘tier one’ offering in our Flagship Platform, Falcon – is used by customers to automate 80% of breach remediation actions with the Falcon Platform. It also serves as a runtime engine of Foundry, a sibling product which gives the Falcon Platform users access to our whole suite of components as well as exposed APIs for a plethora of our security partners to instantly create custom-purpose 'Frankenstein' security apps by configuring selections in just a handful of dropdown menus. Fusion is among the most heavily used products in Crowdstrike's Falcon product suite. Presently, we're integrating Fusion with agentic workflow development to push our Next gen SIEM functionality into the agentic AI-integrated future.
This role is for an experienced backend microservices developer adept with cloud engineering principles, user-facing feature design and development ('or' Fine Grained Auth Expertise), and experience with plenty of custom API development as well as high-scale events processing on a msg queue like Kafka. Your passion and meticulous attention to performance, reliability and scalability will be key ingredients to your success here at CrowdStrike.
Be advised, this role is a hybrid work setup involving 2-3 days in-office at our Sunnyvale, CA location.
What You'll Do:
Build highly fault tolerant Golang microservices to add features and functionality to our Fusion product and its supporting ecosystem
Support ultra-high volume Kafka event pipelines managing our customer workflows
Work with industry-leading technologies like Apache Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis and more
Work on cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects
Troubleshoot critical production issues and implement solutions
What You'll Need:
Experienced building streaming platforms at scale (Note: We process over a trillion events per day)
At least 7 years (avg. YoE is 10-16 Yrs) of overall applicable experience in a technical role
5+ years of recent experience building an event-driven, microservices-oriented architecture
Expert knowledge of any of the following backend languages: Go, Scala, Java, Node.js or Python
Proven expertise in building distributed systems, micro services, REST APIs
Production experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
Experience using both SQL and No-SQL databases
Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
Bonus Points:
Knowledge of Knative or similar open source serverless infra-building framework(s)
Contributed to the open source community (GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging)
Master’s degree in computer science or related field
Golang experience
Prior experience with cybersecurity
