Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead supervision of stormwater drainage, irrigation, pumping station, and associated infrastructure works.
• Ensure work complies with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and HSE regulations.
• Monitor construction progress, contractor performance, schedules, and milestones.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests.
• Administer the construction contract, reviewing variations, claims, payment applications, and extension-of-time requests.
• Coordinate with the client, contractor, utility authorities, and stakeholders to resolve technical and contractual matters.
• Lead site meetings, inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Implement QA/QC procedures and resolve non-conformances in a timely manner.
• Lead, guide, and manage the supervision team.
• Prepare and present progress, technical, and contractual reports to the client.
• Oversee drainage networks, culverts, outfalls, surface water systems, irrigation networks, pumping stations, reservoirs, utilities, and road infrastructure.
• Coordinate with Dubai Municipality, RTA, DEWA, telecommunications authorities, utility agencies, and other stakeholders; attend meetings and manage project interfaces.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 20 years of professional experience in infrastructure projects.
• At least 10 years in a Resident Engineer or Senior Resident Engineer role.
• Proven experience in stormwater drainage, irrigation networks, pumping stations, and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction supervision.

Preferred qualifications and experience

• A master's degree in Civil Engineering or Water Engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
• PMP certification is advantageous.
• UAE or GCC experience is preferred.
• Experience coordinating with local authorities and utility agencies is highly desirable.
• Candidates with experience in Dubai Municipality stormwater projects, infrastructure and utility networks, major irrigation schemes, roads and drainage, master community developments, public realm and landscaping infrastructure, or pumping stations and water management facilities are highlighted.

Workplace

• The role involves onsite construction supervision.
• AECOM states that newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
