SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER – CPU Cores

THE ROLE:

AMD’s Cores Organization designs industry-leading CPUs and caches that provide the foundation for AMD’s server, client, and gaming products. Our experienced and highly collaborative engineering teams develop the next generation of CPU cores, turning AMD’s ambitious technology roadmap into innovative, high-performance silicon.

This senior Program Manager role leads the end-to-end execution of CPU Core IP deliverables, including architecture, design, verification, and documentation collateral. The role also drives methodology, process, and execution improvements across a global, cross-functional organization.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience in technical program management and a strong track record of delivering complex silicon or hardware programs. They will be comfortable collaborating across global, cross-functional teams, navigating changing priorities, and communicating effectively with both engineering teams and senior leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead execution planning and delivery of strategic, long-lead IP initiatives from conception through development
  • Manage cross-program resource and scheduling models across multiple product streams
  • Align IP component schedules with peer IP Program Managers and SoC milestones
  • Support leadership with data-driven insights to inform prioritization, scoping, and risk management
  • Facilitate execution trade-offs, risk mitigation, and resolution of late discoveries or scope adjustments
  • Coordinate communication between leadership and engineering teams and facilitate recurring execution discussions
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to early-career or less-experienced Program Managers
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Program management experience in silicon engineering, complex hardware products, or equivalent relevant expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global, cross-functional engineering programs
  • Strong understanding of the concept-to-production silicon lifecycle and defect management
  • Experience developing long-term program plans with clear deliverables and milestones
  • Strong written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills
  • Experience using common collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, and program management tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, and Teams
  • ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Formal Project Management education or certification; PMP certification is considered an advantage
  • #LI-MH3
