Role overview

Lead initiatives across the Rivian mobile app, which owners use for vehicle status, state of charge, remote commands, charging plans, access, and vehicle health.

Own initiatives from strategy and roadmap through definition and delivery, making the app a coherent product across software domains.

Responsibilities

  • Lead core app features including home and vehicle status, remote commands, onboarding, account setup, notifications, and alerts.
  • Own information architecture, navigation, and interaction patterns across the app.
  • Improve app launch time, command latency, reliability, crash-free rate, and vehicle wake behavior with platform and vehicle software teams.
  • Deliver coherent features across mobile and vehicle experiences, and contribute to the vehicle roadmap where appropriate.
  • Coordinate platform, cloud, and domain product dependencies and release sequencing.
  • Move features from ideation to release with clear requirements and user stories, collaborating with design and engineering.
  • Use owner feedback, analytics, app-store and support signals, and third-party quality data to set priorities and success metrics.
  • Align vehicle software, cloud, identity and profiles, charging, and service teams on product delivery.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of product management experience shipping consumer products at scale.
  • Direct experience shipping iOS or Android mobile applications, including release cadence and app quality ownership.
  • End-to-end product ownership from strategy through definition and delivery, working closely with design and engineering.
  • Analytical fluency in defining metrics, working with data, and adjusting course based on evidence.
  • Comfort using AI tools in product work, including research synthesis, requirements, and prototyping.
  • Ability to synthesize user insights, technical constraints, and business goals into product decisions.
  • Clear, concise product writing and strong communication across teams and competing priorities.

Preferred qualifications

  • Flagship consumer mobile app ownership or ownership of a major app surface at scale.
  • Native iOS and Android experience alongside cross-platform frameworks such as React Native.
  • Connected hardware or companion-app experience involving control of a physical device over an unreliable connection.
  • Automotive, mobility, connected-device, in-vehicle, or infotainment experience.
  • Experience with electric vehicles, EV charging networks, range constraints, or AI-assisted and LLM-powered product experiences.
  • Familiarity with mobile analytics and experimentation tools such as Firebase, and experience evolving a design system.

Compensation

  • Compensation range is CAD 96,800–128,260.
  • Full-time positions may be eligible for an annual performance bonus and restricted stock units, subject to plan terms and eligibility.

Benefits

  • Full-time employee benefits include health coverage, retirement savings, time off, and family planning programs; offerings vary by country.
