Procurement and sourcing

  • Research markets and suppliers, benchmark pricing, analyze cost drivers, and assess total cost of ownership.
  • Prepare RFQs and RFPs, bid lists, commercial comparisons, negotiation plans, and award recommendations.
  • Aggregate demand and leverage suppliers across Sichem and PPC while observing legal-entity and operational requirements.
  • Drive savings, cost avoidance, value engineering, and improved payment terms.

Supplier, contract, and supply management

  • Negotiate price, Incoterms, lead times, payment terms, warranties, quality obligations, and other protections.
  • Coordinate contract preparation, review, renewal, and expiry monitoring with Legal, Finance, Quality, HSE, and requesting departments.
  • Expedite commitments and resolve commercial, delivery, documentation, and invoice-matching issues.
  • Coordinate supplier onboarding, due diligence, qualification, and approved-vendor requirements; maintain supplier scorecards.
  • Maintain supplier-risk registers and develop alternate-source, dual-source, and contingency proposals.
  • Monitor supplier capacity, logistics, market movements, regulatory changes, and supply risks.
  • Support demand, supply, and inventory reviews and help reduce excess, slow-moving, and obsolete stock without disrupting production.

Governance and reporting

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, delegated authority, budget controls, ethical standards, and record-retention requirements.
  • Support audits, close corrective actions, and maintain supplier, sourcing, contract, and purchase-order records.
  • Prepare reports on spend, savings, price variance, contracts, supplier performance, open orders, inventory exposure, and supply risks.
  • Guide assigned procurement team members, lead cross-functional sourcing projects, and provide delegated cover for the Procurement Manager - Chemicals.
  • Follow applicable QHSE, quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, sustainability, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field; CIPS certification is an added advantage.
  • Seven to nine years of experience, ideally in chemical procurement.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience procuring chemicals for the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, commercial, and negotiation skills.
  • Able to meet demanding targets and deadlines, adapt to stakeholder needs, and build successful working relationships.
  • Confident and mature approach, with tact and diplomacy.
