Sr Mechanical Engineer - Leading MEP Contractor - DXB/AUH - AED 18K!

Role Overview

Basic Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• English and Arabic language proficiency and computer literacy.
• UAE-approved driving license.
• At least 12 years of MEP experience.
• Experience with high-rise projects, hospitals, hospitality, or entertainment and theme-park projects.

Project Delivery Responsibilities

• Lead design, coordination, execution, commissioning, and delivery of mechanical systems for construction projects.
• Implement the QHSE Management System and participate in audits and management reviews.
• Review contracts, specifications, BOQs, cost estimates, and project requirements.
• Prepare technical files, submittals, method statements, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documents.
• Coordinate MEP systems and resolve design conflicts with disciplines and stakeholders.
• Perform mechanical design reviews and calculations, including ESP and head-loss calculations.
• Manage take-offs, procurement, supplier evaluations, technical inquiries, and material delivery schedules.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise mechanical works against specifications and approved drawings.
• Monitor progress, delays, engineering issues, variations, testing, commissioning, approvals, and close-out.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence and professional development.

Technical and Professional Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical engineering codes, standards, regulations, and authority requirements.
• Experience in feasibility studies, procurement, estimation, quantity take-offs, project controls, cost forecasting, and change-order management.
• Strong project planning, scheduling, deadline management, communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership, negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Project Environment

• The role includes site inspections, supervision of construction works, coordination meetings, and engagement with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and authorities.
• Relevant authorities include DCD, DM, DEWA, Empower, Emicool, and other project stakeholders.
