Sr Manager, Technical Program Manager

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead programs across hardware, firmware, software, cloud, and AI-enabled solutions; develop Technical Program Managers and cross-functional teams.
• Set program plans, governance, milestones, performance standards, and risk processes; manage scope, schedules, budgets, and technical dependencies.
• Partner with product, engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders on requirements, business cases, and roadmaps.
• Lead New Product Introduction planning, system integration, release planning, demonstrations, proof-of-concept programs, and pilots.
• Prepare executive reviews, dashboards, and reporting; lead teams across locations and time zones.
• Manage risks, resources, external development partners, suppliers, contracts, and Statements of Work; support strategic partnerships and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Drive continuous improvement and manage budgets, forecasting, accruals, and invoicing; source cites program and business-unit budgets up to approximately $15M.

Core qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline.
• Approximately 12+ years of engineering and/or technical program management experience in complex product-development environments.
• The source qualifications summary specifies at least two years supervising a team; the posting also requires experience managing or supervising technical professionals.
• Experience developing small-form-factor hardware, such as wearable computers, scanners, headsets, IoT devices, or comparable connected products.
• Experience delivering significant AI and/or SaaS solutions to market; strong enterprise-level Technical Program Management experience and PMO experience.
• Experience with external customers or professional-services organizations and understanding of technical and go-to-market aspects of AI development.
• Experience coordinating solutions combining firmware, BSPs, mobile applications, cloud platforms, and integrated software/services.
• Knowledge of end-to-end New Product Introduction and product-launch processes; ability to manage technical, quality, cost, schedule, and risk challenges.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred experience

• Preferred areas include wearable or mobile enterprise technology, edge AI/ML on power-constrained devices, and human factors or UI/UX for wearable products.
• Android and iOS ecosystems; firmware and BSP development; cloud services and software integration.
• Agile/Scaled Agile, test-driven development, continuous integration, and ISO-compliant product-development environments.
• Strategic supplier and SOW management, digital transformation involving AI/automation/data analytics, and intellectual-property fundamentals.
• A master's degree is preferred.

Location and work arrangement

• Mississauga, Ontario; hybrid arrangement requiring at least three days onsite and two days remote.
