Sr. Manager Data Science (Dark Stores Intelligence)

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Understand quick-commerce business processes, products, and data platforms to identify valuable ML opportunities.
• Set team roadmap, success criteria, and priorities with engineering and business partners.
• Own problem formulation, datasets, modeling, training, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Lead A/B, multivariate, switchback, and geo experiments and apply causal methods to measure impact.
• Own analytics, data engineering, data modeling, and reporting functions.
• Develop the ML platform for feature management, continuous training, serving, and online and batch inference.
• Lead technical decisions and implementation of ML solutions; collaborate across product, business, and engineering.
• Coach and mentor technical teams, manage development processes, and recruit data talent.
• Balance sustainable practices and high-impact work with efficient scoping and timely delivery.
• Contribute to company strategy, technical vision, and organizational development.

Technical experience

• Expertise in classical machine learning and deep learning, with strong experience in their frameworks.
• Experience deploying and managing production ML systems at scale.
• Strong experiment design and statistical analysis skills, including A/B and multivariate testing.
• Hands-on causal inference experience, including incrementality measurement and uplift modelling.
• Experience in recommendation, personalization, search, or logistics is requested; process optimization and workflow automation are a plus.
• Data pipelines, data modeling, and reporting experience are a plus.
• Familiarity with classical data structures and algorithms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a similar field; postgraduate degree is a plus but not required.
• At least 10 years of software engineering and data experience across multiple data disciplines.
• At least 8 years of machine learning experience at a high-growth consumer product company or similar.
• At least 3 years of engineering management experience in ML engineering or a related area.
