Sr. Logistics officer

Overview

• Key duties and responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics for sea, air and on-land shipments.
• Source and negotiate competitive freight and carrier rates; secure best-cost, service-fit contracts and spot quotes.
• Select and manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs clearance and transport providers; monitor service levels and SLAs.
• Plan and optimize shipment consolidation, routing, and scheduling to minimize transit time and cost.
• Track and follow up on freight status; proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, demurrage, detention, and claims.
• Prepare, review and control all commercial and transport documentation: bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, insurance certificates and other required paperwork.
• Ensure full compliance with UAE/Dubai customs regulations, import/export controls, free zone rules.
• Coordinate customs clearance and port/terminal operations inside Jabal Ali free Zone.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, update the system and reports.
• Manage disputes, freight claims and vendor performance remediation.
