Sr. Frontend Developer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Create secure data flows and implement Redux; review system requirements and interface designs.
• Write and maintain unit tests; review pull requests and refactor code to meet best practices and performance standards.
• Develop responsive React user interface components; troubleshoot and debug frontend applications.
• Monitor and improve frontend performance, and document application changes and updates.
• Create and maintain component libraries; teach, mentor, and build capabilities within the software engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on JavaScript, React.js, and Next.js experience; knowledge of Webpack, Enzyme, Redux, and Flux.
• Experience with web services and APIs, including HTTP, REST, and SOAP.
• Strong mobile and web UI design experience across screen resolutions, including coding, support, and maintenance.
• Experience deploying, debugging, and troubleshooting applications.
• Portfolio with at least 4 professional, real-world applications, including code the candidate can discuss.
• In-depth JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and frontend language knowledge.
• Knowledge of Mocha or Jest performance testing frameworks and browser-based debugging and performance testing software.
• Must be able to undergo and pass a public trust clearance; knowledge of Git and source control practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Content Management Systems as a backend, such as Contentful CMS, is a plus.
• Experience with other popular frontend JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular, or Svelte is a plus.
• Ability to work in an agile environment is a plus.
• Experience implementing component libraries is a plus.
• Experience implementing OAuth and other user authentication technologies is a plus.
• Experience implementing cybersecurity best practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with Docker and container-based technologies is a plus.
