Senior Quality Engineer (Incoming) Position Title: Senior Quality Engineer Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control Location: Chakan Experience: 8 – 15 Years Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) / B.E. (Mechanical or relevant) CTC Range: Up to ₹12 LPA Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer responsible for Incoming Quality (IQC) and In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) in an automotive manufacturing setup. The role focuses on ensuring material quality at entry level and maintaining process quality across production to meet customer and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Incoming Quality (IQC) Inspect and approve incoming raw materials, bought-out parts, and components. Develop and maintain incoming inspection plans and standards. Coordinate with suppliers on quality issues, rejections, and corrective actions. Perform supplier evaluation and support Supplier Quality Improvement initiatives. Ensure proper documentation for incoming inspection (GRN, test reports, CoC). In-Process Quality (IPQC) Ensure adherence to control plans and process parameters during production. Conduct stage-wise inspections and audits on the shop floor. Monitor and control process variations using SPC techniques. Identify defects and perform root cause analysis (RCA) using 8D / 5 Why / Fishbone. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues. Reduce in-process rejection, rework, and scrap. Common Responsibilities Maintain and update quality documents (Control Plan, SOPs, WI, Checklists). Drive 5S, Kaizen, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 standards. Prepare and present quality reports and dashboards. Coordinate with Production, Stores, and Purchase teams. Participate in internal audits, process audits, and customer audits. Train operators and inspectors on quality standards and inspection methods.

- Strong experience in Incoming & In-Process Quality Control Hands-on knowledge of measurement tools (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM if applicable) Expertise in quality tools (7 QC Tools, SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plan) Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) Knowledge of automotive standards (IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP basics) Familiarity with inspection techniques and defect analysis Good command over MS Excel and quality reporting Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Candidate Profile Exposure to supplier quality and customer complaint handling Six Sigma certification Strong shop floor presence and hands-on approach Good communication and team coordination skills
