Essential functions

• Work with business systems analysts and developers to define requirements and acceptance criteria, understand system impacts, and identify gaps.
• Define integration and regression test scope and collaborate with development on automated tests from unit and integration levels through user journeys.
• Identify test data requirements and create and maintain test data.
• Perform exploratory and manual testing across system layers and verify screen, file, and database outputs.
• Establish strategies for performance, load, and other non-functional testing.
• Promote team quality practices, review work, and demonstrate functionality to product owners or teams.
• Provide input to user-story estimates and facilitate tester knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience and five or more years in a technical QA/testing role.
• Proven software testing experience in a structured environment and knowledge of defect lifecycle practices.
• Understanding of test levels from unit tests through UAT and ability to advise on cohesive test strategies.
• Technical understanding of application servers, databases, web services, and basic programming constructs.
• Experience with one or more test frameworks, automated functional-test scripting, API and microservices testing, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Experience in functional, end-to-end, regression, and smoke testing.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements, collaborate across disciplines, and communicate clearly.
• Self-motivation, organization, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

Preferred and additional experience

• AWS experience is preferred.
• Experience creating test cases using GitHub Copilot is preferred.
• Accessibility and security testing experience is a value add.
